Creede Williams

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Creede enjoys extensive experience in energy project development, construction, fund formation, law, capital raising, M&A, and investor relations.

Creede formerly served as managing director of a major infrastructure fund, where he was responsible for raising capital and mezzanine debt, implementing strategic development initiatives, managing M&A, and liaising with investor relations. Creede and his team raised more than $800 million in fund capital commitments and $500 million of project capital, including $450 million of project-related debt and equity from Asia and $50 million through project equity sales.

Creede’s sell-side experience exceeds 3,500 megawatts of project transactions since 2020. Before overseeing equity fundraising and sales, Creede worked at one of the largest independent power producers in North America, where he led the power development division’s greenfield and M&A efforts to develop more than 5,800 megawatts of renewable energy and natural gas-fired power generation across the United States, Latin America, Asia, and Great Britain. Creede is also credited with managing a fund solely committed to pursuing power and infrastructure projects on tribal sovereign land.

Creede earned his bachelor’s degree in Letters from The University of Oklahoma and a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Oklahoma and Texas and is admitted to practice before the District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. Creede’s legal experience includes successfully navigating the Hague Evidence Convention, the Texas Supreme Court review process, and several high-profile intellectual property disputes involving celebrities you would probably know.

Carter Cheek

Chief Financial Officer

Carter Cheek has broad-based experience in structuring, negotiating, and closing highly complex debt, equity, and M&A transactions totaling more than $11 billion.

He worked with Panda Power Funds for more than 10 years holding leadership roles in M&A, project finance, and equity sourcing, working on more than $6 billion of capital transactions and raising $500 million of capital, including $450 million of project-related debt and equity capital from Korea and $50 million through a project equity sale to J.P. Morgan. Carter was part of the equity team that raised more than $200 million of equity co-investments for Panda’s private equity funds.

Prior to joining Panda, Carter helped create Silveron Capital Partners, an investment banking boutique that advised on approximately $5 billion of debt and equity transactions in the power space. While at Silveron, Carter was focused on client origination, deal structuring, and deal execution. Carter worked on a variety of debt and equity transactions for energy clients, including geothermal, ethanol, and waste-to-energy and coal-to-gas technologies.

Carter also worked in the investment banking and private equity industries for Nations Bank and Orix USA. While at Nations Bank, he was part of a team that analyzed, structured, and closed more than $500 million of high yield bond transactions. Carter was part of the Special Situations group at Orix where he helped analyze and structure second lien and mezzanine cash flow loans with an average size of $10-$40 million across a variety of industries. Carter earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Brandon Upchurch

CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Brandon Upchurch has extensive experience in project development, commercial strategy, power origination, asset management, fundraising, and financial analysis.

His work structuring technical, environmental, legal, and governmental permitting matters has consistently produced successful projects.

He previously served as senior vice president at one of the largest independent power producers in America, leading its project development team. Brandon was responsible for providing the firm with attractive investment opportunities focused on greenfield power development and project acquisitions in the industry sector. His expertise includes fuel supply agreements, asset management, transmission, EPC agreements, hedge agreements, and tax-related issues. Brandon has experience in all types of power including solid fuel, renewables, natural gas, and transmission.

Brandon was a key member in creating and raising development capital for Coronado Power Ventures, a firm focused on developing power generation facilities. There he led the development of 1,600 megawatts of natural gas-fired generation. Brandon executed all necessary material project agreements, fuel supply, commercial strategy, and investor relations.

Brandon also helped create and raise more than $50 million of development capital for Chase Power Development, a firm backed by Quintana Capital Group focused on power generation facilities. While at Chase, Brandon was responsible for the development and financing activities for a $2.1 billion, 1,320-megawatt, petroleum coke-fired power plant. Brandon played a key role in all material project agreements and investor relations. Brandon earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Venture Management from The University of Oklahoma.
